FAQs
How do I start training?
Once you have made the bold decision to start your journey in aviation, there can be a lot to figure out. A great first step is to head over to your local flight school and book a discovery flight to get an idea of what flying will be like. Next, you’ll want to find an AME (Aviation Medical Examiner) and determine how much training will cost and what options there are for funding.
Why not go with a cheaper course?
Most online ground school courses do a fantastic job at running you through the information and have very well designed courses and programs that will take you through all of the information that you will need to know in order to get through a checkride and become a pilot. What they often lack is the depth of information and personal touch that offer at AeroEdge. Here our instructors will design a program built for your specific needs and we focus on making sure that you don’t miss the important information that you’ll need, not only to pass a checkride, but also to become an exceptional pilot.
Where can I find an AME?
There are many ways to find your local AME, once you determine what type of medical you need for the type of flying you are hoping to do, locating your AME is as simple as heading over to the FAA’s designee locater search site and input your location information and it will populate a list of possible Examiner’s to select from. For any further information reach out and one of our dedicated instructors will be happy to speak with about how to navigate your individual situation.
When can I start training?
Once you have taken the above steps and have completed our initial, complementary triage call, our instructors will help you set up a plan of action to accomplish the rest of your goals. This initial triage is an important step in order to assure everyone involved that we have the right idea about what training will look like going forward. Once this is complete the student will provide their availability and the instructor will let them know which times and how often they will meet.
What options do I have for funding?
There are many options when it comes to flight funding. Self-funded is always one of the better options, but there are also lots of opportunities for loans through partnered student loan programs or personal loans for smaller sums and never forget about the scholarships that are offered by many organizations within the industry. For more information, fill out information above and one our dedicated instructors will be happy to get back to you to help you figure out which option works best for your specific situation.
Can I do flight training with AeroEdge alongside my ground training?
At the current moment, we only provide a limited amount of flight training and it is generally done through customers who already own their own aircraft and are certified pilots. However, we are ever expanding and could be open to taking on the challenge. Don’t be afraid to ask your instructor if this is something you desire to do.
